Professor James B. Rawlings from the University of Wisconsin-Madison, USA, received the Honorary Doctor’s degree for his work within modelling, simulation and control of chemical processes and development of software for these purposes. His pioneering research within Model Predictive Control (MPC) and his contribution to promote technology at DTU and with Danish industrial companies are much valued.
The day before, 5 May, Professor Rawlings gave an impressive talk on "Optimizing Process Economic Performance with Model Based Control".
The talk was given in connection with the conference Model Based Control organized by AutomationDESIGN.
