A one-year Postdoc position is available in the Electronics group at DTU Electrical Engineering. The project targets a high-power-density and high-efficiency switched mode power supply.

Responsibilities and tasks
The next level of improvement in power electronics will come from integrated power electronics modules, which enable greater integration and standardization within power electronics systems and their end-use applications especially for applications where space is highly restricted such as electric vehicle, aerospace, portable electronic devices and computer system etc. This project targets to high power density and high efficiency DC-DC converter for a phone charger application. The project will be carried out in collaboration with our industrial partners.   

The primary focus of the project is to investigate and develop suitable power electronic circuit topologies that will complement the performance of PCB embedded integration or advanced silicon-integration, miniaturized/eliminated magnetic components. It will include circuit modelling & design, investigation of integration solutions, and building & testing of prototype circuits.   

Qualifications
Candidates should hold a PhD degree or equivalent. We prefer applicants with the following skills: 

  • good grasps of analysis and synthesis of kinds of DC-DC circuit topologies;
  • experience in high frequency resonant DC-DC converters or switched capacitor converters;
  • familiar with the performance of GaN devices in power electronics applications;
  • experience in IC design;
  • grasps and practical experience of power integrations such as PCB embedded integration or advanced silicon-integration/packing-integration;
  • experience with analog control;
  • experience in using PCB layout software;
  • experience in performing laboratory prototype and testing for power converters;
  • able to communicate in English at a high level
The successful candidate will be highly self-motivated and show enthusiasm, while being able to work under tension.

Salary and terms of employment
The appointment will be based on the collective agreement with the Confederation of Professional Associations. The allowance will be agreed with the relevant union. The period of employment is one year.
